I absolutely love the 2015 movie Carol, and while it’s not exactly a holiday movie, it does have some lovely holiday outfits – like this one worn by the character Therese Belivet (played by Rooney Mara).

I’ve been wanting to recreate this look using some of my favorite Charm patterns, and now that we have a tutorial for a Santa Hat, it’s the perfect time!

  • Two colors (army green and olive green) of stretch knit ribbed fabric

  • This vest is from the Charm archive (which has now grown into the world’s best closet!). I think we made it from this black boiled wool blend.
• Charm Circle Skirt Pattern
  • This is from the archive, too. It’s in a basic black denim, but I think it would wonderful in wool felt or cotton twill, too.
• Santa Hat
  • Red velvet fabric – it’s polyester but feels and drapes like silk!
  • Ivory faux fur
