The Leopard Stole is our tribute to one of cinema’s most unforgettable accessories: the leopard print stole and matching muff worn by Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953).
Equal parts glamour and mischief, this piece captures the Old Hollywood magic of Marilyn’s iconic look while translating it into a modern, wearable design. Whether rendered in plush faux fur, a dramatic brocade, or a soft wool for everyday elegance, the Leopard Stole instantly elevates any outfit, no diamonds required.

Recommended Fabrics, Supplies, and Yardage Requirements
Recommended Fabrics
We recommend medium-weight wovens: faux fur is classic, although a stable knit wool or coating fabric would be lovely. You can also use any medium-to-heavyweight woven fabric like brocade, velvet, or velveteen.
For the lining, we recommend: light- to medium-weight woven fabrics and lining fabrics. It’s fun to match the lining to your dress!

How do I download, print, and use my PDF pattern?
We offer digital patterns in two formats: letter-sized PDFs to print at home and A0 sized PDFs to print at a copy shop. In the US, we highly recommend printing A0 files with The Plotted Pattern. Outside of the US, these printers have been recommended.
