For the penultimate day of this year’s Halloween Extravaganza, I wanted to share this costume idea that is so simple (and wearable the rest of the year) that it almost doesn’t count as a Halloween costume!
Of course, I’m talking about turning Charm’s Maria Dress into the gorgeous white dress worn by Natalie Wood as Maria in West Side Story, shown below with Rita Moreno.
Sew the Charm Patterns Maria Dress with three-quarter sleeves in a white textured or eyelet print. Add a wide red belt (included in the Maria Dress pattern) and pair of red heels, and you’re good to go!
For a dress that is even closer to the original, add white lace trim to the neckline and sleeve hem, and add layers of wider white lace around the skirt hem.
