Niagara Keyhole Bodice Pattern

The Niagara Keyhole Bodice pattern was inspired by the gorgeous pink wiggle dress Marilyn Monroe wore in Niagara (1953), created by costume designer Dorothy Jeakins.

This fully lined bodice has a sexy keyhole opening and a lower, wider, and deeper V-neckline than the Lisa Bodice (released in March). It is meant to be worn off the shoulder, and we’ve included a clever sewing trick to help it stay snug.

Even better, it’s in the Lamour series, so you have more than a dozen different skirts, pants, and shorts to pair it with!

Lisa Bodice Pattern

Inspired by the striking dress Grace Kelly wore to wake Jimmy Stewart in Rear Window, the Lisa Bodice is a fully lined and very fitted raglan sleeve bodice, with an elegant deep V-neckline, front and back.

Pair this bodice with any bottom pattern in the Lamour series to create your own Hollywood-worthy dress, jumpsuit, or romper.

Queen of Hearts Halloween Costume

Journey with us down the rabbit hole as we create a Queen of Hearts costume inspired by the 1951 film Alice in Wonderland!

This type of pattern hacking is one of my favorite ways to play! I love taking existing Charm patterns and turning them into something new, especially for our Halloween Extravaganza.

For full details and measurements of how to recreate this hack, look to pages 16-19 of Issue 7 of Vintage by Gertie Magazine, available to Patreon members in the Glamour Circle tier and higher, but the basics are as follows:

We started with the Las Vegas Halter Top (available on Patreon) and used ribbon to plan out the size and placement of our color-blocked heart. Once we transferred those lines onto the paper pattern pieces, we lowered the neckline to create more drama, and a more distinctive heart-shape. After a few mock-ups in fabric from our stash, we made a few more changes to the pattern pieces, and moved on to the black and red version you see here.

We paired the top with color-blocked Loretta Shorts (also available on Patreon), turning it into a chic romper and keeping the costume versatile for everyday wear (and for Disney-bounding).

Then, we crafted a separate Homecoming Skirt (another Patreon favorite), complete with a waist facing, to layer over top.

Finally, we crowned this creation with a fabric-wrapped wire headpiece, and the look was complete!

Homecoming Skirt Pattern

The Homecoming Skirt pattern comes in two lengths, with an optional asymmetrical spiral draped overlay for added drama.

It is fully interchangeable with every Lamour-series bodice and also works perfectly as a separate skirt, so you have so many options for both day and night!

Boardwalk Slim Skirt Pattern

It’s not quite a pencil skirt, and it’s not quite a flared trumpet skirt…what is it?

It’s the Boardwalk Slim Skirt! With the swish of a bias-cut skirt (although it’s cut on the straight grain), this magical slim skirt has just enough flare for walking ease.

A Lamour-series expansion for the Boardwalk Sundress, it can be used with any Lamour-series bodice or waistband to create a dress or a separate skirt.

And with many fabric options, this skirt is sure to be an elegant and simple addition to your everyday wardrobe.

Boardwalk Sundress and Patio Skirt Pattern

Charm’s summer school is now in session, and I have the perfect pattern for you to celebrate the season!

The Boardwalk Sundress was inspired by the iconic blue polka dot milkmaid-style dress worn by Marilyn Monroe during a 1957 photoshoot with her husband Arthur Miller.

Charm’s version includes thin shoulder straps, a gathered bust over a fitted midriff panel, clever ties that form a bow at the front keyhole opening, and a three-tier gathered patio skirt.

To make this pattern even better, both the bodice and the skirt are compatible with other Lamour-series patterns, so you can mix and match to create dozens of other garments!

Grace Bodice Pattern

Millicent Skirt Pattern

We’re continuing the Barbie theme this month with the Millicent Skirt! This full circle skirt has swingy box pleats and is compatible with the Lamour mix-and-match patterns.

Live your dream girl fantasy by combining it with the Barbara Bodice to create the perfect dress for the opening of the new Barbie movie next week!

Millicent (Barbie’s middle name) is also a great stand-alone skirt and works in a multitude of woven fabrics. It’s sure to become a wardrobe staple.
